IN DEVELOPMENT / MECH BUILDS

Contracts buy the next fight. Salvaged schematics change the machine you take into it.

Build the machine, then take the contract

Metal Wayfarer is a single-player action shooter about a hired mech pilot reclaiming an occupied island. The useful detail in KRUMB Games’ description is that customization extends beyond two arm weapons: torso and leg choices are meant to change movement, combat and survival too. The announced options include treads, spider legs and a biped body.

That creates two connected decisions: which attacks to bring, and which machine should carry them. The store describes miniguns, rockets, railguns, beams and flamethrowers alongside stranger freezing, sawblade and gravity weapons. This is the developer’s advertised range, rather than a tested claim that every combination is balanced or distinct.

The next build comes from the last job

Contracts lead through Iron Legion strongholds. The described Armory acts as a mobile workshop: recover schematics from wrecked machines or supply crates, spend the earnings and fit new parts between battles. A contract therefore promises more than another shooting arena; its rewards can open the next assembly decision.

The campaign description names 12 war engines. That is announced scope for the upcoming game; launch content and timing remain unconfirmed.

THE PRODUCTION, SPECIFICALLY

A broad AI claim, with a person directing the revisions

Developer’s statement
The current Steam disclosure says all in-game content is generated with AI. In the creator’s 23 October development post, Mekkablood credits Opus for the project, with three.js as the named external library.
Human work described
In the same public discussion, the creator explains giving detailed instructions, making many revisions and building up in small steps. That describes a directed, iterative process rather than one prompt producing a finished game.

These are attributed production statements. They do not measure a percentage of human labour, independently audit the code, or establish a live-AI gameplay system.

What can you do now?

At the 25 October check, Steam lists Coming soon, Windows requirements and no public demo option on this game page. There is no confirmed release date here. Follow the development or wishlist if the building-and-salvage loop interests you; this is a prospect to watch, rather than a currently available release.
